more info on the dancing

So, I realize that the videos I took at the festival are kind of grainy. Also, I was kind of far away and off to the side. So I've taken the liberty of finding some representative videos on youtube to show you what Bhangra and Bollywood style dancing is supposed to look like:

Bhangra

Bollywood

And seriously, youtube's quality is severely lacking. Oh well.

I'm so glad you posted more videos! It is easy to think that Bhangra and Bollywood style dancing is simple because if a dancer is good, you think "Hey, I can do that!" But I can tell you, from having taking some traditional Indian dancing years and years ago- it is HARD! Fun, but definitely, a whole lot of movements to remember- arms, legs, hips, head, and something I particularly had a hard time with- hands. And your legs? With the dancing at all the different levels, I had issues walking... and sitting. And this was back when I was a nubile youth! But it is a lot of fun, especially if you are looking to try something different from your everyday, run of the mill dancing.

I think i heard a piece about bhangra on NPR. traditionally only performed by men but it is gaining in popularity in the usa and there are groups in many cities that you can join that do this easy to look at but physically demanding dance??

Richard and i saw the Rhubarb tour a few years ago - i listen to a prairie home companion on NPR - yes hokey and funny. I am a member of the ketchup advisory board.

Ok so is the official state fair or the very famous country fair onp private property with the "anything goes" you are going to - i have heard clothing is optional at the country fair.
